In March, 2013, the Florida Lottery announced that Joseph Nicolleti, 69, of Central Islip, New York, claimed a $1 million prize in the BILLION DOLLAR BLOCKBUSTER Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery headquarters. This marked the 50th winner to claim a $1 million prize in this popular Scratch-Off game; 70 prizes of $1 million and five prizes of $10 million remain.

Nicolleti opted for the one-time lump-sum payment of $650,000. In addition, the winning ticket was bought at Publix, located at 926 South Military Trail in West Palm Beach.

The $20 Scratch-Off game, BILLION DOLLAR BLOCKBUSTER, is known for offering what is considered the highest cash payout of any game in Florida Lottery history. The game was successfully launched on February 24, 2009. The game includes more than $1 billion in prizes, including 10 top prizes of $10 million. It is important to mention that the game has already awarded over $441 million in prizes. The overall odds of winning are one in 2.98.

The Florida Lottery offers about 60 Scratch-Off games at any given time through vending machines or counter displays at more than 13,000 retailers statewide. Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, and they made up about 58 percent of ticket sales and generated over than $495 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2011-12. In December, 2012, the Florida Lottery announced that Vicki Wheeler, 66, of Sanford, claimed her $1 million 25th Anniversary MILLIONAIRE RAFFLE™ prize at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. She bought the winning ticket at Publix, located at 829 Rinehart Road in Lake Mary.

At the time, there were two weekly drawings remaining in the 25th Anniversary MILLIONAIRE RAFFLE, and a Grand Prize drawing was going to be held on December 31, 2012, in which one lucky player would win $2 million and 560 players would win prizes ranging from $1,000 to $100,000.

In the drawing on December 17, another $1 million prize and 50 $1,000 prizes would be won. Tickets bought from December 10 through December 16 were eligible for that week’s drawing and the Grand Prize drawing.
