Hope is a word we know of, we know what it means and we have heard about it almost in every religious teaching on earth however having hope is another story. Hope is to believe in something truly even though you cannot see it, touch it or sense it with your physical five senses. And sometimes luck is all about hope, all about believing that one day you will win and believing that even if you don’t win those funds will go to those who need it and will do good.
A Cobb County seafood restaurant manager has been a long supporter of the HOPE program of the Georgia and he has lately received his own doses of hope and good luck. Jeffrey Cowley was one of two players each to match the winning numbers from the Aug. 16 Fantasy 5 drawing, taking home a $222,732 jackpot prize.
In addition to winning his prize, Cowley of Woodstock also won a $100 prize playing Cash 4 Midday. It must have been his lucky day for winning twice is not something you see every day indeed.
Barrett Exxon Food Mart, 550 Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw, sold the lucky tickets. The second winning ticket with the jackpot prize was sold in Brunswick.
Winning numbers from the Aug. 16 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 3-5-33-35-38.
Cowley, 51, checked results from the drawing on his computer the following day.
“I looked at the ticket at least eight times,” he said. “I said, ‘Wait a minute, all of my numbers match!’”
Cowley was so impressed that he took some time off the computer to make some coffee. After stirring all his senses he went back to his computer and logged back in just to make sure that he was a legitimate winner. However he was still not convinced so he went to the gas station to show his ticket to the clerk and have it officially confirmed and checked. US lottery
Feeling great about winning the lottery, Cowley anticipates paying off his home mortgage.
“I play for the HOPE Scholarship because it’s going for a good cause,” the lucky winner shared. “I truly believe in HOPE.”
