TIME IS EXPIRING FOR UNCLAIMMED PRIZES

A winning Powerball ticket worth one quarter million dollars and sold in Covington is set to expire soon. The ticket was bought on Christmas Eve at the Ameristop Food Mart on West Pike Street. State lottery.

Winning tickets must be claimed within 180 days from the drawing, connoting that the ticket will end at midnight this upcoming June 19th. The slip has to be taken to the Louisville headquarters to be cashed.

The ticket matched the white ball numbers from the drawing on the 21st but not the Mega Ball. The winning white ball numbers were: 8 – 11 – 12 – 31 – 32. Lotteries.

The largest unclaimed prize in Kentucky Lottery history was a $1 million Lotto KY prize sold at Jack’s Marathon in Crescent Springs on March 2, 1991.

Northern Kentucky is not new to have citizens winning big chunks of money via the lottery. This region has been the site of other large jackpots that went unclaimed. For example two years ago in May 2009, a $200,000 Powerball ticket sold at Oldtown Shell in Covington terminated after nobody stepped forward to claim it. In addition, an $853,492 Powerball ticket sold at the Hebron BP in Hebron went unclaimed in April 2006.

Following law restrictions, if the prize is not claimed by the deadline, the $250,000 will go to a reserve fund set up to cover any potential shortfalls to the KEES scholarship program. Mega lottery.
