TAKE A DETOUR AND WIN $200,000
October 26, 2011

Oh Yes, don’t you simply love stories with a happy ending and with dollar signs as the cherry on top of the icing?  Vivian prince was driving through Virginia and she really wasn’ t sure where  she was.  Being a North Carolina woman obviously she did not know her way around those areas.  However just to chill she pulled off the main road in the Richmond area and took the opportunity to fill up her tank and grab something to eat.  She acknowledged that she was simply lost.

So she ended up , 237 East Belt Boulevard in Richmond, where she filled up her tank and bought one Powerball ticket.  Yes, just one ticket and that’s all you need because   that one ticket won her $200,000. Powerball lottery

“I knew I’d won, but I didn’t know how much,” admitted Prince.  Her ticket matched the first five numbers in the October 15 Powerball drawing. The winning numbers for that drawing were 5-10-24-38-43 and the Powerball was number 1.

If you are a lotto fan you may know that up till now nobody has won the Powerball Jackpot and that it has reached the amazing amount of $173 million.  So Prince is actually one of the lucky ones to win the second-place prize of this multi-state game. This game is played on Wednesdays and Saturdays. On the 15th October, 9 lucky tickets matched the first five numbers for a $200,000 second-place prize: 1 from Florida, 1 from Georgia, 1 from Michigan, 1 from Missouri, 1 from New York, 1 from Ohio, 1 from Texas, 1 from Virginia, 1 from Wisconsin. There is however one small catch, this game has something called the Power Play option, and you pay an extra $1 per ticket and any any non-jackpot prize is multiplied from 2-5 times, depending on a computerized random number generated that evening. If Price had bought this second-place ticket with Power Play, matching the five numbers but not the Powerball, she would have had her $200, 000 multiplied by 5.  Yes she would have got $1 million!

As for Price’s reaction towards her winning she simply admits that, “Right now I’m just numb!”  What about her plans, after all everyone has plans when they get some extra cash.   Ms. Price, who owns a small business says that she would like to pay some bills and help out her family.
