What if you were out of town, out of your normal, day-to-day activities and most frequented places and someone tells you that one of the biggest attractions in town is a lottery retailer, famous for selling winning tickets? Would you go and confirm for yourself if the retailer is that good at producing big winners? Might as well try, right?

Walter Thomas lives in Mesa, Arizona and once a year he travels to Iowa to visit friends and family. This year however this trip to visit friends in Mason City resulted in a Triple Fortune experience. While staying with friends in Mason City, Walter decided to purchase a “Triple Fortune” instant-scratch game and surprisingly ended up winning a top prize of $10,000.

“My wife was looking at them and I said, ‘Oh, there probably won’t be anything on them,’” Thomas said. “And she said, ‘No, I think you won ten thousand dollars!’” Lottery winning numbers

Thomas, 86, purchased his winning ticket at Northside Liquor and Grocery, 1303 N. Federal Ave. in Mason City. The reason why he decided to purchase a ticket there is because he had heard that the store has a great history of producing big winners, and he wanted to give it a try. And with this experience he successfully confirmed the retailer’s good luck.

“I thought, ‘Oh, man!’ I couldn’t believe it was true,” he said.

Thomas couldn’t believe his great luck and has already spread the news with his family and friends and everyone was excited for him.

“I couldn’t hardly wait to get here!” he said.

With this win, Thomas is looking forward to use some of his winnings to take a well-deserved vacation with his wife, Rosemary and will also be able to use it to help with medical bills.
