Happiness, what we long for and simply know that we want, the natural state of well-being that should be a right, but how many times a day do we allow ourselves to feel this and to experience it in all its scope?

One Sullivan County resident is allowing himself to do so, his name is Andrew Porter of Loch Sheldrake who was simply in ecstasy when he received an over-sized check worth $5 million as a representation of the prize he actually won.  Sheer joy, happiness and fun is what you can perceive from his photo. “I was stunned. I couldn’t think,” said the 50 year-old Porter about the life-changing moment. “I thought it was a fake at first and then I scanned it again. I started jumping up and down when I realized how big a prize it was, and then I ran straight home.”

Porter is a plumber and he won his $5,000,000 prize by matching the number 12 on the top and bottom of his ticket. “I didn’t get too excited at first because I’ve won a couple hundred dollars on this ticket before,” he said. “But then I scratched the prize under the number 12, and I just didn’t believe it. I had to ask the store owner to make sure it was real.”

And it was real!  It wasn´t his imagination, it wasn´t an error, he won $5 million on a scratcher game.  After this win the Mega Money Multiplier has been taken off from circulation since he is also the last winner of the last available top prize for this game. Porter bought his ticket on June 10,  at the Loch Sheldrake Food Mart on Divine Corners Road in Loch Sheldrake. He did not wait long and went to claim his $5,000,000 prize the following day at the Lottery’s Customer Service Center in Fishkill.

The $5,000,000 prize on the Mega Money Multiplier ticket is paid as a lump sum, after taxes  Porter is taking home a check worth $3,309,000.  What is money good for if you will not be using it to make people happy and to enjoy?  Not much, and that is was Porter is planning to invest his money in making his family happy.  He is planning to take his family to Disney.
