RETIRED POLICE OFFICER WINS $2 MILLION JACKPOT
August 24, 2011

Lotteries sometimes have a strange way of unraveling their stories. You sometimes see prizes won by drug dealers and murderers while sometimes they go to elderly couples who struggle to make ends meet or single mothers holding two jobs to keep their children in school. However, this is the story of David Robinson, a retired police officer from Hesperia. Robinson had a 1 year contract with the County of San Bernardino, which expired at the end of June. That means that Robinson was out of a job and there were few ways to pay the bills. Lottery results

Luckily for him, he is a regular player of the California State Lottery Scratchers game and he buys lottery tickets all the time. On July 10, he made a decision to go to a local lottery retailer and buy a few tickets for the Set for Life Scratchers game. He then went home to scratch them off, and when he finished scratching the third ticket, he had to double and triple check to make sure his eyes were not deceiving him. National lottery

“My wife was in the other room, and I just looked at it…and then I looked at it again…and then I jumped and went in the other room to show her,” David Robinson stated. “She said ‘how much did you win, $100?’ So I told her to look again and then we both just had the most ecstatic feeling.”

The man had won the Set for Life jackpot. That means that for the next 20 years, he will receive a $100,000 annuity. This brings his total winnings to $2 million. The man said he plans on checking how much money he actually gets before making plans with it. However, he did say he wants to make a few improvements on his home and play it smart with some investments. Lottery numbers

He purchased his lottery tickets at the Grandview Mobil, located at 13302 Ranchero Road in Oak Hill, California. The store will also receive $10,000 for selling the lucky ticket.

So you see, just when David Robinson needed it the most, the lotteries came through for him and ensured he will never have to worry about not having enough money again.

That’s about it on the matter for now.
