REGULAR MILLIONAIRES
June 15, 2011

Billy and Jeff Wilson’s lives took a turn for the lucky two years ago, when they purchased a winning Powerball lottery ticket. However, the two Wilsons try to live out their lives as regular people, wearing the same regular clothes they used to. If you see them in a crowd, you honestly couldn’t realize that they won $88 million. Well, actually the whole prize was $88.1 million, and as Jeff chose the lump sum option, they ended up with about $28.8 million after taxes. When asked about how rapidly becoming a millionaire can alter a man, Billy Wilson replied, “As people, it hasn’t changed us. The old saying is money doesn’t buy happiness so you have to be happy with your life.  We live around a bunch of millionaires and some of them are the most miserable people on earth. Just because you have money doesn’t make you any better than anyone else and sometimes it seems like they forgot that.”

“I don’t want it to change me so it hasn’t,” Jeff Wilson added. “We live around a bunch of millionaires and some of them are the most miserable people on earth. Just because you have money doesn’t make you any better than anyone else and sometimes it seems like they forgot that.”

“It’s given us an opportunity to do some things that we wouldn’t have been able to do,” Billy Wilson answered when questioned about how they use the money. “We’ve traveled some, bought a new house. But we’ve also given money to groups like Holy Angels in Belmont and St. Jude (Children’s Research Hospital).”

“Everyone thinks you go out and have a big party. You pretty much have to get a crash course in taxes or you’ll pay a lot. We’ve already paid a lot,” Jeff Wilson added. Lottery results

They helped save the life of a young boy in Louisiana, when they sent him the money needed to pay is medical bills. Meanwhile, Billy Wilson, aged 58, is getting ready to celebrate is 41st wedding anniversary, while his son is still trying to enjoy his youth.

“I went from someone who worked 15 hours a day as a (general manager) of a car dealership to someone who can now do what they want. It takes some getting use to,” Billy Wilson finally said. Lottery checker
