REDIFINING LUCK
December 22, 2011

There are a million of instances we can all say at once that when it happens, you´re lucky. Usually it is very straight forward, you´re lucky if you can get the seat you wanted on a plane, or buy something you really wanted but had a huge waiting list, you are lucky to be picked as a winner at a raffle and lucky to meet people that really appreciate you. But sometimes you can also be lucky when things that are not apparently “lucky” occurs. You miss a plane, which you really think it is unlucky only to discover later on that there was a mishap and then you realize that you were not only lucky but blessed! You are late and your car doesn´t start for a reason or other, you had to go and run errands, by the time your car miraculously starts you pass by the place you were going to originally only to realize that it has been robbed. Unlucky? Or actually blessed that the car didn´t start because if not you would have been robbed too. National lottery

There are many instances in life where in a certain event becomes a miracle although it was considered to be unlucky at first.

“Luckily, we had a flat tire,” said Lindsay Ghostlaw.

Luckily?

In this case, yes!

Ms. Ghostlaw’s was driving through Virginia with her boyfriend and they had to include many unscheduled stops to keep an eye on their tire which somehow seemed to be running flat, so they had to check it and of course, repair it. At one of those stops, she bought a Win For Life Scratcher ticket from the Virginia Lottery. Lottery numbers

As they resumed their trip back home to Massena, New York, she scratched the ticket while he drove. When she realized it was a top-prize-winning ticket and told her boyfriend, he didn’t believe her at first.

“It took me to Maryland to get him to turn around!” she said.

With that winning ticket, Ms. Ghostlaw will receive $1,000 per week for the rest of her life. It turns out that she is a college student, studying dental hygiene, and the prize will enable her and her boyfriend to pay off student loans.

The winning ticket was bought at Bo’s Belly Barn, 60 Stony Creek Road in Edinburg. The store received a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery for selling the winning ticket.

“I think it’s awesome,” said Debbie DeCarlo, assistant manager of Bo’s Belly Barn. “It’s great to see the winning ticket go to someone who can use it.”

This is the fifth and final top prize in the Win For Life Scratcher game, which means the game is being closed. It is the Lottery’s policy to close Scratcher games as soon as the final top prize is claimed. The prize of $1,000 per week for life is still available in the Virginia Lottery’s Win For Life computerized game.
