She had in mind buying a 10x the Money scratcher but this game was sold out at the retailer so she chose The Money Game, one she had not played before and chose simply because she felt like it.
“Okay, I’m going to feel lucky today,” she recalled thinking.
She took the ticket home and scratched it, when she first saw that she had actually won something she thought it was $1,000. But when she realized how much it was actually worth, she said, “chills went up the side of my head.”

Powerball Winner Thought He Had Lost
Steven Cook is a Powerball fan and when he checked his Lottery numbers and found out that he had matched five numbers in the Powerball game he was very surprised. He had to calm himself down and reasoned that before he got all excited about the win it would be wise to double check to be sure.
He proceeded to take his ticket to a local retailer and asked him to check. The message came back that he needed to contact a Lottery office. When he received the notice Cook was quite down for he thought he had lost and that was the end of it. However, the retailer assured him that he was probably a big winner, and urged him to contact the Lottery office. Neither of them knew that the prize was $1,000,000!
Cook has been playing the Lottery for years now but the most he has ever won is $7. This win means a lot to him for he will be able to invest on his farm and might even be able to take small trips with wife Kathy around the Michigan state area. The happy couple is on cloud nine and cannot believe their good fortune.
