Ask every Olympian who stood at a podium and you will receive an answer to as why they are standing there, they have practiced year in and out, they kept on even though they did not feel like it and they had faith that one day they would make it far. The same happens to Lottery players, especially those who are aiming at a jackpot for there is no “fun” involved as is the case with a scratcher ticket. Lottery checker
And consistence is something that Mark Pare knows of when playing Powerball, this lucky winner has been playing Powerball twice a week for the past 10 years, using the same number combination of birthdays and special dates every time. And now he has finally made his dream come true as he has received his ceremonial oversized check for his one-time cash prize of $1,000,000 at Lottery Headquarters in Concord.
Mark Pare of Manchester, NH did not immediately check his Powerball numbers after the drawing; instead he had them clipped in the visor of his truck. However he was tuned into the Rock 101 station and he casually heard that the store where he bought his ticket had sold a winner. He immediately took his tickets and went to the store to have them checked. And what a sweet surprise it was to discover that it was him who had the winning ticket.
“I didn’t believe him,” said Pare as the clerk gave him the big news. “As I laughed, I asked him, what did I win? A buck?!”
Mark went home to tell his wife, Paulette but there was no way she could believe him. The couple had to head to the store so that Paulette could ask the clerk if what her husband was telling her was really true. The clerk’s answer was unwavering – the Queen City couple had won $1 million!
“I never thought in a million years that I would win a million dollars,” Pare said in disbelief.
Mark who has been married with Paulette for 16 years will receive his official prize of $750,000 after taxes.
