We have tried to provide Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) about the shutdown and you may link to those questions here.

Thank you for your patience and understanding,” this is all a person accessing the Minnesota State Lottery website can read.

It appears that the budget crisis from Minnesota’s capital has spread throughout the state, and even the lottery is affected. Unfortunately, many of the services provided by the state of Minnesota, and that includes the state lottery, were discontinued since Friday, July 1.

Lottery officials have urged holders of winning lottery tickets to sign their name on the ticket’s back and store the tickets somewhere as safe as possible until lottery operations can commence again and the prizes can be paid. Also, the losing tickets may not be used to enter competitions and lottery players must hold on to them until the situation is finally resolved. Once everything goes back to normal, losing lottery tickets will qualify for the regular operations.

We hope that the budget situation will be dealt with soon and the state lottery will return to normal. At the moment, we have no other information on the matter. Powerball lottery

In other news, a man from Savannah, Georgia can probably claim the title for the greatest dad in the world. The father of Aisha Prater, aged 32, managed to win $400,000 at the lottery, and he decided to simply give the ticket to his daughter.

“He gave me a call and said to come home as soon as possible,” Aisha Prater, also a Savannah resident, stated. “It was a surprise.”

It was one of the more lucky lottery tickets from the “20x The Money” scratch game and it was bought at Country Convenience, located at 12404 White Bluff Road in Savannah. Aisha Prater said the winning came at the best possible time.

“I’m furloughed,” Aisha Prater said. “He gave it to me to give me a fresh start.” State lottery
