Patricia Hewitt of Statesville, N.C., has claimed a $250,000 Mega Millions prize for matching five numbers from the July 27, 2012 drawing.

The way Hewitt came eye to eye with Lady Luck was actually during a day she decided to visit her fiancé. Her loved one is currently living in West Virginia and working in the natural gas industry. It happens that both of them love to play lottery games and on that particular occasion they decided to purchase a ticket at the Winfield Convenience Store in Fairmont. The couple are very happy for this incredible will which has landed them a quarter-of-a-million dollars!

“We’ve never won anything like this before,” Hewitt said. “We could not believe it!”

Hewitt works in a coffee shop and plans to use part of her winnings to pay bills and buy a new car.

Hot Summer Win

Summer days cannot be helped to be tainted with hot weather, but for some people such as Donald Jackson of Hampton the heat was the main reason why he ended up winning $100,000. It was an amazingly hot day and Donald could not help it he had to stop at the 7-Eleven at 8531 Orcutt Avenue in Hampton for a cool drink, a couple of minutes to chill out and since he was there and they were handy, he also bought a Jewel 7’s ticket from the Virginia Lottery. As a side note, Daniel is one of those lucky ones who are somehow repeating their good luck. Just a couple of months ago in January he actually won another prize, a $10,000 in the Virginia Lottery´s King of Cash Scratcher game. It seems that some people simply get their fortune rolling and rolling !
