For the second time in six months, the same store in the small town of Whiteville has sold a big-winning lottery ticket. The ticketholder has already come forward to claim the prize money. Christina Grice of Chadbourn said she felt “excited” Monday morning as she collected her winnings at the lottery’s claim center in Wilmington.

The perk for the stores is that they usually receive some type of bonus for selling a big winning ticket, but that is only one of the perks. Besides the bonus they will get some free publicity and will definitely draw more customers to drop by to buy lottery tickets which might also include a couple of soft drinks, snacks and other things. This is definitely a win-win situation for lottery fans and retailers.
