Allacco, a grandmother was going around her usual routine, just running her usual errands on August 12 and made her usual stops for groceries and lottery tickets.  For her, the stop to buy lottery tickets is a complete must,  “Whenever I have money, I buy lottery tickets,” explained the Long Islander.

After Allacco scratched her $3,000,000 Richer ticket in the store, she handed it back to the store the clerk saying, “I don’t think I won anything.” “I think you won something,” the clerk responded.  It was until a couple of moments later that she realized that she had actually won, and won pretty big.  The place where Allacco got struck by luck lightning was at B&N Stationery Corp on Old Country Road in Plainview. Some people think that once you win the millions you have it, you have exhausted lady luck´s resources, it cannot be farther from truth for Allacco who demonstrated that all of that is simply hearsay by scratching off another ticket that won her a few hundred dollars and a trip to Atlantic City.   “Let’s just say, I’ve won a lot,” she professed.

Allacco worked as a senior clerk in the financial industry and retired from Depository Trust Co. in 1999. She plans to use this windfall to fix up the house she has lived in for over 50 years and take care of herself.“And my family will be well taken care of,” she added. For her it is of utmost importance to set aside money  for her only grandchild’s college education.

The top prize on the $3,000,000 Richer ticket is paid as an annuity. The grandmother will receive her $3,000,000 prize as $150,000 a year for 20 years. She will receive an  annual net check will total $99,045.

Of course sometimes it is good to be hit by a “lightning bolt from heaven” especially if it brings you windfall luck!
