LOTTERY WINNER AND DRUG DEALER
June 16, 2011

They say the lottery can do a lot of things. Unfortunately, it looks like it cannot stop a person from dealing drugs. One might think that winning a thousand dollars can deter a person from selling drugs, but that is not the case of Daniel Henry Jr.

Apparently, Daniel was a leader of a serious crystal meth operation. Apparently, the operation sold up to 10 pounds of crystal meth per week, for the last three years. State lottery

“This was an operation that was dealing in multiple pounds of crystal meth,” Chris Thyer, United States Attorney, stated.

William Bryant, an assistant special agent with the federal Drug Enforcement Agency, said that Daniel Henry came into the Agency’s attention long before he managed to win the lottery prize. Ever since 2005, authorities have had hints of his criminal activities. Along with Henry, 19 other people are believed to be involved in the operation and have arrest warrants in their names. “We have agents and officers actively looking for them now,” Agent Bryant stated. “We won’t stop until we get them.”

Apparently, both Henry and his wife were apprehended last Friday, while his sister and mother were also named in the indictment. More than $100,000, seven cars, six motorcycles and 7 pounds of crystal meth were confiscated during the SWAT raid.

“This is a happy, happy day for Lonoke County people,” Jim Roberson, the Lonoke County Sheriff, stated.

Apparently, Daniel Henry was a “known drug dealer” as he lived in a town with a population of just about 2,000 people.

It is extremely saddening to see such a thing happening, as it is our strong belief that purchasing a few winning lottery tickets can actually change someone for the better. Daniel Henry is living proof that that is not the case, because even though he had won enough money, he could not stop from ruining the lives of so many.

But that is just the way things go sometimes. More often than not, money goes to those who don’t deserve it and will use it just to deal damage upon society. We truly hope that such cases will not happen again any time soon, and that lottery earnings will go to those who need it. Lottery checker
