We have recently given you an account on Jose Antonio Cua-Toc’s situation, but a quick recap is in order. It appears the man has been in jail for more than three months after he was accused of threatening the lives of his boss and his wife. Jose Antonio Cua-Toc used to buy lottery tickets and he one day got lucky and won $750,000. His problem was that he was an illegal alien and he was afraid that his immigration status would prevent him from cashing in on the prize (it actually doesn’t, the Georgia State Lottery doesn’t check immigration status but Cua-Toc did not know that). He was supposed to go with a trustworthy friend and have him claim the money for Cua-Toc, but he had to cancel. His boss, Erick Cervantes, aged 31, offered to cash in on the ticket himself and give Cua-Toc his winnings. Cua-Toc gave him the ticket and Cervantes took the money, but he then chose not to give Cua-Toc a dime. Luckily for Cua-Toc, video evidence exits which shows him buying lottery tickets and returning to the store later that day to celebrate. Lotteries
However, unlucky for him, he might have to leave the country, and very soon. A judge ordered Cua-Toc to leave the United States on his own until September 6. If he does not, the United States will deport him and ban him from returning for 10 years. Meanwhile, the lottery jackpot prize is frozen while a Georgia judge decides on the rightful owner. Cua-Toc testified that his boss, Cervantes, told him to go ahead and claim the prize. But after Cua-Toc decided he won’t, Cervantes just cashed in on the ticket for himself and ignored Cua-Toc’s demand for his money. Kelly Burke, Cervantes’ lawyer, said the two men planed on splitting the money in half, but what the lawyer said is simply outrageous. Lottery winning numbers
“Mr. Cua-Toc was generously rewarded for his role in picking out the ticket, but that is all he is going to get,” the so called lawyer stated. We frankly believe it’s outrageous. It obvious for all to see that Cervantes had absolutely nothing to do with buying the lottery tickets. He is not a lottery player, he never plays the lottery, it was not his ticket. Saying he is entitled to a part of the money is just preposterous.
