Akbar Ali won $250,000 in the April 20, 2012 Mega Millions draw but he waited for over one month before claiming his prize.  Most probably for many this type of decision might come as quite crazy, for if you have already won the money, why not simply claim it right away and maybe start using the money?

But Akbar did not want to do that. He wanted to see everything with a very cool mind and make very well planned decisions.

Most probably it has to do with what he will be planning to do with the money, get some advice from financial professionals, see to it that all his legal matters are in order, all of that. Akbar definitely was not the type of man who discovered he had won the lottery and would go claim it so as to spend it all immediately. Some winners are not as prudent as Akbar.

Akbar won his $250,000 prize on April the 20th. He learned of his win shortly after the draw. “I had a bunch of tickets and I was going through them,” he said. “When I saw the ticket, I said ‘aha!’” Then he spent a few weeks developing his game plan. Until finally he has claimed his prize.

After reading so much about the game plan you will sure want to know what it is that Akbar has been planning and pondering for a whole month.  Well, he plans first to pay for his daughter to go to private school and the rest will be set aside for his retirement.  It all seems that Akbar really thought things through for you are not seeing any impulsive buys and you might also think that his decision is not fun or interesting at all.  Maybe Akbar had to weight his plans and decisions and most probably also make numbers and see that they all balance out.  Life would have not meaning without fun and Akbar is a very balanced man so do not think that this windfall is all about responsibility, he will also be planning a family vacation, for money is also to be enjoyed!
