LIFE AFTER WINNING THE LOTTERY
November 10, 2011

What would you do if you won the lottery? I don’t know about you but that question must have raced through our minds zillions of times and not only you but most probably on everyone on the face of this earth must have fantasized about a life without limitations.

Dwight Foote and his wife won the top prize on the Hoosier Lottery’s Lucky for Life Scratch-off in April this year. This lucky couple was to receive $1,000 a week for the next fifty years. How’s that for a change? All of it adds up to $2.5 million. With five daughters ranging in age from nine to fifteen, crammed into a two-bedroom house, the first thing they wanted to do was to build a new house. And then start college funds for their daughters. Lottery numbers

At the time of their win they were asked: What does a guaranteed annual extra income of $50,000 feel like to a carpenter and a stay-at-home mom? “It’s overwhelming,” said Dwight Foote. “We’re having trouble thinking that big yet.”

A couple of months later, Dwight Foote appeared on the TLC TV show called The Lottery Changed My Life. On this show he gave his version of what has happened ever since.

Dwight had always been a hard worker. He worked as a carpenter and often would work long shifts. Even when he came home from work, he would often take on extra jobs to make a little more money for his family. As a result, he didn’t have much time to spend with his family. The responsibility of such a big family can be quite heavy. Lottery checker

Before they won the lottery this big family rented a two-bedroom house. It was beyond their wildest dreams that they would be able to live in a house with enough rooms for everyone. But it all became true when they won the lottery and now they are enjoying the benefits of a five-bedroom house. Yes, now everyone has their own room.

Besides from this big change in their lifestyle, a change for the better, the lottery win also afforded Dwight more time. Now he doesn’t need to work so many hours in order to support the family. Now the whole family has more time and resources for quality time together.

Dwight Foote’s daughters had never even been very far outside of the state of Indiana. His wife had never even seen the ocean in real life. During summer this year, that all changed since they went on a road trip to Florida. Dwight watched the expressions on the girls’ faces, including his wife’s, when they saw the ocean for the first time. They were in awe… It was priceless!

Incredible how a little luck can make people’s dreams come true, right. Guess that’s the magic of winning the lottery.
