JUST WHEN TINA WAS ABOUT TO GIVE UP
May 25, 2012

Tina Herring has been playing the Lottery for 15 years, she has faithfully played the same numbers every time. These special numbers are based on birthdays and anniversaries. And she was about to quit because in 15 years this strategy had not produced her winnings superior to $75. Lottery numbers

It is a tough decision to give up a practice that you have been holding onto with the hope of someday winning it big.  However if it were for Tina she would certainly not give it up.  However the situation at home was a bleak one. Money was tight in her family. Although she’s working two jobs right now, at an insurance company and at a bowling alley, a bad job market had hit her family recently. She and her husband had experienced lay-offs from their jobs in recent years. They had to weight the pros and cons of this situation, and see if it was actually worth it to keep on buying the lottery under these circumstances. The matter was, to play or not to play.

So a reason or other, the final decision was that Tina Herring continued to play her lottery numbers, the same ones that she played for 15 years and the same ones chose based on anniversaries and birthdays. Maybe she could not bear with the idea of not playing and that specific day seeing that the numbers she had been playing for 15 years would come up, maybe she had a good feeling about it.  The fact is, this time the numbers did came up!

It was the May 15, 2012, Mega Millions draw. Tina was checking her numbers, when she discovered that the first five numbers matched. Her son was in the room. She told him the good news. There was a lot of disbelief in the air. Her son said, “Mom, you’re nuts!”

But mom wasn’t nuts. Nope, she was perfectly sane. She really did match the first five Mega Millions numbers. She won $250,000!

“I’ve played those numbers 15 years,” Tina said. “You just never know when it might be you. It’s got to be somebody, it might as well be you.”

After this win, Tina will not be giving up lottery anymore, she would like to win some more.  Besides, this win represents a great help to her situation right now.  Perseverance pays.
