It´s the time of the year, gifts and Christmas cheer. And lotteries definitely do not stay behind and find better ways to keep their players happy as they also join the holiday season. After a huge response to its holiday promotions the past two years, the Iowa Lottery has revamped its holiday promo and gave it a new twist for 2011. State lottery

The lottery’s latest promotion is called “Super Tech,” which is a version of its “Tech-The-Halls” holiday promotions from 2009 and 2010. Players made a combined total of more than 1.2 million entries in those promos for a chance to win the latest electronics or cash prizes — numbers that blew away the previous records for online entries in Iowa Lottery promotions.

This year a Super Prize Level is included and the prizes promise to make everyone happy. After all, if you are not winning cash, you never know if you might win some of the items in your gift list. The next best thing besides having the cash to buy a present is winning the present itself. Lotteries

Super Tech offers more than 250 prizes of Sony electronics, including six Super Prize packages worth more than $4,900 each. Entries can be made through noon Jan. 23 and the drawing is set for Jan. 24. Results will be posted on the lottery´s website. To enter the promotion, Iowa Lottery players must join or already be a member of the lottery’s VIP Club.

On the Super Tech promotion page on the VIP Club website at, players will be asked to enter the 10-digit entry number from the front of a non-winning holiday scratch ticket available this season in Iowa, along with the ticket number from the back. A different non-winning holiday scratch ticket must be used for each entry, and different prizes are involved for different tickets.

The tickets that can be entered to participate are: Betty Boop, Holiday Bonus Crossword, Holiday Countdown, Holiday Wishes, Lucky Elves Bingo, Merry Crossword, Santa Games Doubler, Snow Bank, Sparkling Winnings and Winter Bucks.

If you enter one of each of the 10 holiday scratch tickets, you’ll automatically receive an entry at the Super Prize level.

Each Super Prize package includes all of the following electronic prizes plus $2,000 cash: Sony BRAVIA 46-inch HDTV, Sony NEX-C3 digital camera, Sony Tablet S (16GB), Sony PlayStation 3 (160GB), Sony 3D Blu-ray Disc home theater system. State taxes for the prize package also will be paid.

All holiday tickets entered into the Super Tech promotion also will earn players “Points For Prizes” points that can be used in the Iowa Lottery’s VIP Club store.
