GENEROSITY GOES ROUND AND ROUND
June 19, 2012

Nathan McGuire was hanging out with two of his buddies at a Seven Eleven when suddenly he saw a scratch-off ticket and simply could not take his eyes away from it. The ticket was fluorescent yellow and had the attractive prize written all over it. The prize is $500 for Life. So drawn by this brilliant yellow ticket he decided to get three tickets. He is a very generous person so he bought one for each buddy and one for himself. Maybe he thought that it would be nicer for all of them to play together, after all that is what guys do; they love to have fun together. Or maybe it was simply Nathan’s nature, a very generous nature. The reasons he had to buy three tickets from that roll is not important. The important point is that he won the top prize for the game. But what would have happened if the winner was not Nathan although he was the one who purchased all three tickets? Well that would be a whole different story and the type of story that could end up being a happy one or one marked with disagreements.

In Massachusetts this scratcher game allows you to choose either the annuity or the one time lump-sum option and Nathan very intelligently chose the annuity option. Nathan is generous but also intelligent. You see, he is only 22 years old and receiving a prize for life means that you will have some extra money in your pocket every single day until you leave this world, besides he is at a great age to make the most of the prize of this game. With the one time-lump sum option you would have to be very wise in order to manage and invest the money that is given and would receive less than in the annuity option.

Nathan McGuire from Cheshire, Massachusetts is a cook by trade and amongst his immediate plans is to upgrade his living arrangements. Most probably since he is a very generous person he will be treating his friends to some more scratch-offs.
