Cathy Mantooth was on the road and she was running out of gas, if she did not pull in to a gas station right away she would run into the risk of simply staying on the road without being able to move.  This forced her to go to Rainbow Gas Garden #7 in Lexington which is not her favorite station for some reason or other. “I never stop at that store,” said Mantooth.  Maybe it was because she always saw that the station was packed, maybe it was simply her idea about this place.  This time however  she had absolutely no choice so there she was waiting in line to fill up her tank, being preoccupied that while waiting she would run out of gas right then and there, she was about to lose her patience for the waiting line was too long.

So in order to kill some time and to have some fun while she was out there waiting she decided to go into the store at the gas station and buy a $5 lottery ticket.  She scratched and immediately won $100,000. In just a second, her whole waiting in line experience took another meaning in her life.

“I started shaking,” she said, overwhelmed she beat the 1 in 312,000 odds on the Muscle Car Money scratch-off to take the game’s first top prize.

Lottery offices are closed on the weekend, so to keep her mind off of the money she spent the day with a friend and her family at Frankie’s Fun Park. She locked the ticket in the glove box, but couldn’t stop thinking about the $100,000 waiting for her.

Mantooth works for an insurance broker and has been living at home with her parents. Hopefully with this win she will be planning to move out since she will invest the money to buy land for a house.

“I’m so excited,” she said.

It is not every day that someone can pair up filling up their gas tank to filling up their wallet!

For selling the claimed ticket, Rainbow Gas Garden #7 received a commission of $1,000.
