JoAnn Kuhlman and her husband like to play the lottery but they haven’t had much luck that is until lately. Her husband, Marvin Kuhlman, 58 could barely believe his eyes when he discovered that he had won by playing “Triple Fortune” a scratcher ticket which JoAnn purchased.

As a couple, they share their responsibilities but also share the win. Marvin said he’s giving his wife credit for their $10,000 win playing the “Triple Fortune” scratcher game, because while he scratched the ticket, she is the one who purchased it although he was the one who scratched it and revealed the prize.

“Most of the time when we play, we only win a couple bucks,” Kuhlman said. “So when I scratched off the bag that said, ‘Win,’ I thought I had only won a couple bucks. But I looked at it and it said $10,000!”

Excited and happy over the discovery of his win, Kuhlman instantly woke up his wife, JoAnn, to tell her the big news. He had to show it to her and have her check the ticket. Mega lottery

“I said, ‘You’ve got to get up! We just won $10,000!’” Kuhlman said. “She double-checked the ticket and sure enough….”

For Kuhlman this is not only his first win, it is also the first time that he plays the Triple Fortune game which makes winning even more exciting. Now that he knows for sure that winning the lottery is possible he will be in the looking for more.

“I’m looking for some more winners now!” Kuhlman said with glee. “What a feeling!”

Kuhlman works for a plumbing warehouse and he has been trying to keep his win a secret but in the end the excitement took over him and he simply had to share the news with his coworkers.

“I couldn’t keep my mouth shut. I had to blabber it!” Kuhlman joked.

JoAnn purchased the winning ticket at Hy-Vee, 2900 Devils Glen Road in Bettendorf. The couple will be planning to use some of the winnings to install a new roof on their house and will also help their children in whatever they need. If winning means happiness then happiness expands when it is shared.
