Michael W. Smith of Jacksonville, Florida has made the best decision he could have ever made by purchasing two “Lucky $500 A Week For Life” tickets.
Smith had initially bought a $3 Monopoly Scratch-Off ticket and won $5, so he planned to purchase another Monopoly ticket with his winnings. However he was informed by the clerk that the ticket he bought was indeed the last $3 Monopoly ticket in the dispenser. That moment was crucial for that is when instead of cashing his $5 and going home he decided to buy two Lucky $500 A Week For Life tickets instead. “The second ticket I scratched ended up being a top prize winner,” Smith explained, adding, “I was lucky the store was out of the Monopoly tickets or I would not have tried this game and won this prize!”
Smith chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $436,801.56. State lottery
Good News Bring Good Feelings Which Turns in Big Win
Brandon Clark from Davenport was feeling great after he found out that his girlfriend is pregnant with a baby boy. He felt so good and was in such a good mood that he stopped into Tobacco Outlet Plus at 4619 Brady St. in Davenport to pick up a few things for breakfast and bought some scratch tickets as well. This decision to pick up a couple of “Crossword” scratch tickets ended up adding $30,000 to his bank account.
“I stopped for a pop and didn’t want to use my debit card for a dollar, so I got a Crossword too,” Clark said. “All of a sudden there was just a bunch of words that kept coming.”
Clark woke up his girlfriend, Jodi Moore, to tell her the big news.
“She told me to go back to the gas station to have it checked and calm down,” Clark said.
Clark works in construction in Wyoming, Iowa and is more than happy for this win since it will help him cover some of the necessary things for his son’s birth.
“We’re just going to save it and see what we need,” said the father-to-be.
