CASH IS SPECTACULAR!
November 4, 2011

Kenny Perry and his older brother Tom have a very special way to bond. They have had the practice of buying lottery at their favorite retailers and return to Tom’s house and scratch their tickets together for shared fun. On September 9th, Kenny purchased the newest $10 scratch game, $200 Million Cash Spectacular at his Lottery retailer in Wauconda, then went back to Tom’s house and this time the fun was multiplied because he discovered that he won $1,000,000. “We looked at the ticket at least six times, and then checked the numbers again,” Perry said. “We could not believe our eyes.”

But these brothers have also a kind of pact, something they have agreed long time ago when they started with this lottery playing ritual. They promised themselves that if ever they won the Lottery big they would share their winnings with the entire family, including younger sister Cori who was so excited with her brother’s big win that she went out and also bought a $200 Million Cash Spectacular ticket the next day and won $500

The Perry brothers are the first ones to take home the top prize of this new Illinois scratcher game. At the time of their awarding, the second top-prize winner from Southern Illinois was announced which makes still 23 one million dollar prizes available for the public

The story behind Perry is incredible, he is a full-time volunteer at the St. Francis Animal Shelter in Kenosha, and is also a cancer survivor. One of the things that remains very much impressed in his memories is the way his mom struggled for many years to raise her five children alone. He is very thankful for her perseverance and unconditional love. He understands that life can sometimes be very tough and he sees this windfall as a blessing and a gift to make his family’s life a bit easier. Amongst his priorities is to pay off his mom’s mortgage and after that he said that he might buy a house since he considers it is the right time to invest in real estate.

Perry purchased his lucky ticket at a Citgo station located at 1200 Rand Rd. in Wauconda. He preferred to choose the one-time prize of $600,000 instead of $ 1 Million paid throughout 20 years in annual installments. Anil Shah, owner of the Citgo, will receive a $6,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. Powerball lottery

Besides Perry’s win, in just the first 5 weeks that this new game has been launched it has already awarded over $17 million in prizes to 660,509; four $20,000 winners have claimed prizes, three of these winners are from the Chicago metro area and one winner is from Peoria.
