A Colona, Ill. man said he thought he had won a $50 prize on his “The Black Ticket” instant-scratch game, but then saw more zeros appear as he continued scratching.
Virgil Norton, 75 from Colona, Illinois had “The Black Ticket” which is a scratcher ticket at hand when he decided to start scratching it to reveal the prize, at first he thought is was worth $50 which was already a good sign but then there were more zeros appearing and this he simply did not expect.
The winner was was traveling through Davenport when he decided to stop at Kwik Shop, 2242 E. 12th St. in Davenport to purchase a ticket. He hadn’t played The Black Ticket for some time now so he decided to have one of those. He went back to the parking lot to scratch it.
“I looked at those zeros and at the winning number and I was in shock,” he said.
Norton immediately broke his news to his family and friends about his win and he was joined for the excitement and the celebration of this win. Lottery checker
“My step daughter said it’s great, that we deserve to win,” he said.
With this prize Norton will be looking forward to use some of it to make some repairs around the house and also in his vehicle.
Family Receives Windfall
There is nothing more that can really make people smile than to know that families are getting a piece of their luck. Tonya Wells was was accompanied by her husband, Joe and their two children, Taylor and Mark to receive her $100,000 prize for revealing a winning a Casino Cash Out Scratch-off.
Wells purchased her top prize winning ticket at Family Pantry at 5450 N. State Road 9 in Howe. The Wells family moved to the northwestern Indiana town from Michigan a year ago to take advantage of the school system in LaGrange County.
Wells works as a customer service representative and this win will allow the family to have more fun and worry less. The plans for the winnings are very practical and sensible, they will be planning to pay off their cars and student loans.
Both sons are also happy that they won, now they will be able to ask for remote control cars.
