June 27, 2011

Larry Dawson, aged 58, from Webster City, Iowa, managed to win a $9 million lottery prize at the Hot Lotto draw. It was one of the largest jackpots ever won in Iowa. Larry has four children with his wife Kathy, and the 6 of them, surrounded by the 10 grandchildren were at the press conference held in Des Moines, at the Iowa Lottery Headquarters. Lottery results

“I am a little guy, but I am a big dreamer,” Larry Dawson stated. Mr. Dawson said that he will use some of the money to enlarge his business, a financial services firm. Kathy Dawson said that her husband is often called “Lucky Larry”, because he has an outstanding ability to make bad golf shots which turn out to be great. She recounted a story about his shot hitting a tree and bouncing right back on the fairway. The couple had read a book about winning the lottery, and they started playing about 4 months ago. Armed with the recommendations given by the book, Larry finally managed to hit the jackpot.

“We were just getting to the point where I said, “You know, this just isn’t worth it. I don’t think I am going to do this anymore. But we played one more time and…it’s kind of nice,” Larry Dawson stated. Powerball lottery

Only 11 other people have ever won a larger jackpot at the Iowa State Lottery. His 9.09 million dollar prize has given Larry an opportunity to make an even better life for his family and close ones.

It’s just how fate works sometimes. Just when the man was starting to lose hope, luck struck and made him richer than he ever thought possible. It just comes to show that you never know when you are going to get the correct lottery numbers and change your life completely. Larry’s fortune stands as proof that as long as you try your hardest, something good is bound to come out of it. That doesn’t mean that’s the only thing you need in order to win the lottery, a lot of luck would also be kind of required, but it would improve one’s chances. National lottery
