SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY WOMAN WINS $150,000
August 6, 2012
While on her lunch break, Paulette Archie of Locust Grove stopped to buy some Virginia Lottery tickets. She chose Virginia Lottery Black because she likes that Scratcher game.
When she discovered she had won the top prize of $150,000, she had to ask store employees to bring her a chair.
“My knees buckled,” she told Lottery officials.
Ms. Archie bought the ticket at 7-Eleven at 5545 Germanna Highway in Locust Grove.
She is the fourth top-prize winner in the Virginia Lottery Black game, which means one $150,000 ticket remains unclaimed. The game features prizes ranging from $5 to $150,000.
Ms. Archie said she plans to put the money to good use on her new home. She also plans to invest, pay bills, and give.
