PORTAGE WOMAN WINS $50,000 LUCKY 5 PRIZE IN GARY

An 18 year old Portage woman is excited to go shopping after winning $50,000 on a Lucky 5 ticket she purchased at Miller Raceway at 4900 Melton Road in Gary.
Diamond Redding’s Lucky 5 ticket is worth $50,000 in the May 29 midday drawing. Her lucky quick pick ticket matched all five numbers: 5-13-25-32-34.
Redding claimed her prize at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters May 31. While Redding says she plans to do a little bit of shopping, she ultimately plans to “be smart” with her winnings and use it to pay for college. She plans to be a dental hygienist.
“It’s very exciting,” said Redding. “I see it as a blessing. I feel like it happened for a reason.”
