POLK COUNTY WOMAN CLAIMS $1 MILLION POWERBALL PRIZE

The Florida Lottery announces that Pamela Ortagus, 46, of Polk City, claimed a $1 million POWERBALL prize from the August 11th drawing. Ortagus's winning ticket was sold at Prestan Store, located at 229 Dairy Road in Auburndale. The retailer received a $1,000 bonus commission for selling the $1 million Quick Pick POWERBALL ticket.
Ortagus says she plans to split the winnings with her boyfriend, Don, a recent cancer survivor who just finished chemotherapy. She adds that they both have children who will be entering college soon, so the winnings could not have come at a better time.
