OSSEO RESIDENT WINS $43,500 NORTHSTAR CASH PRIZE

John Mathias of Osseo was doing a little cleaning this past weekend when he saw some Northstar Cash tickets and decided to take them to a Lottery retailer to be scanned. “The stack was getting a little big,” he said.
Mathias said that he was using the store’s ticket checker when the store employee offered to scan some of the tickets for him. “He said, ‘Dude, I think you’ve got a big winner here,'” recalled Mathias.
The first line of Mathias’ five-line quick-pick ticket matched the winning numbers drawn on Jan. 14, 2012 (9-10-15-21-23) to win $43,500. His ticket was one of two sold for that drawing to match all five numbers to split the $85,000 jackpot.
Coborn’s/Little Dukes, located at 705 County Road 75 in Clearwater, sold Mathias’ winning ticket.
The other $43,500 winning ticket was purchased by Todd Mouw of Burnsville.
