NEWPORT NEWS WOMAN WINS $100,000!
July 26, 2012
Marian Covert of Newport News enjoys playing Blackjack. When she saw the Virginia Lottery`s new Black Jack Scratcher game, she decided to buy a ticket.

“I go to Vegas a lot so I thought Black Jack would be a great game to win,” she told Lottery officials.

When she discovered she had won, she kept her poker face on and quietly held the ticket until it could be cashed. She described the feeling of winning in one word: fantastic.

She bought the ticket at Kroger, 101 Village Avenue in Yorktown.

Ms. Covert told Lottery officials she hopes to use her winnings to pay bills and give some money to her family.
