MOORHEAD RESIDENT WINS $38,259 NORTHSTAR CASH JACKPOT

Olinda McCabe normally plays Northstar Cash. The Moorhead resident purchased a two-line quick-pick ticket for the drawing on August 10. “I was out playing cards that night. [After getting home] I decided to check my numbers on the Internet and there it was!” she said after discovering that the second set of numbers on her ticket matched those drawn earlier that evening to win the $38,259 jackpot.
McCabe, who said she called her kids right away the next morning to let them know she won the $38,259 jackpot, hopes to win another jackpot someday. “I’m not giving up,” she stated. “I’m playing for the big ones [Powerball and Mega Millions] now!”
McCabe claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters in Roseville on Aug. 24. She purchased the winning ticket at Hornbacher Foods, 101 - 11th St. S. in Moorhead.
