MISHAWAKA COUPLE WINS $50,000 IN SOUTH BEND

When Terry Mikulyuk’s cell phone rang in the middle of his fishing tournament last Sunday, he answered it, but he didn’t greet the caller, his wife Marysue, with “hello.” Instead he greeted her with, “You better have hit the lotto.”
As luck would have it, that is exactly why Marysue was calling. She had just discovered they had won $50,000 in Saturday night’s Lucky 5 drawing.
As the lucky couple claimed their prize at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis today, they joked about the phone call.
“She knows not to call me when I’m at a fishing tournament unless we won the lotto,” laughed Terry Mikulyuk.
Marysue Mikulyuk purchased her winning ticket at One Stop 3 at 1807 Lincolnway East in South Bend. Her lucky quick pick ticket matched all five numbers drawn May 19: 11-14-24-33-35.
The couple lives and works in the Mishawaka area. They plan to put their winnings toward their eventual retirement.
