LOWELL WOMAN WINS $10,000 IN THE MASSACHUSETTS STATE LOTTERYS FENWAY PARK CHALLENGE!
August 3, 2012
Joan Gray of Lowell, MA, won a $10,000 prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Fenway Park Challenge, which was held on the field before last night’s Red Sox-Twins game.
Gray was selected as a contestant in the Fenway Park Challenge after entering into the Lottery’s $2.00 Boston Red Sox Instant Ticket second chance drawing. She was randomly selected in the June 15, 2012 drawing to participate in the on-field challenge and win up to $25,000 prior in a pre-game ceremony.
Gray, who could not attend the event due to health reasons, was represented by her grandson Corey Gray – a biology major at UMass Lowell. He was accompanied on the field by his girlfriend Taylor.
Nine over-sized replicas of the $2 Boston Red Sox Instant Ticket were displayed in the infield, of which Corey had to select one ticket. Concealed behind one of tickets was a $25,000 prize, while the remaining tickets held $10,000 prizes. He selected ticket number seven (7) and won $10,000. The envelope with $25,000 prize inside was behind ticket number eight (8).
