GROCERY STOP ADDS UP TO $50,000 PRIZE FOR CALHOUN MAN

Steven Weitz of Calhoun has picked a fresh $50,000 top prize playing the popular Georgia Lottery instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic while grocery shopping.
Weitz, a textile plant manager, was grocery shopping at Ingles #0036, 5679 Appalachian Highway in Blue Ridge, when he purchased the lucky ticket from a Georgia Lottery Instant Ticket Vending Machine.
He claimed his prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Dalton.
“I scratched it in the car,” said Weitz, who celebrates his 30th birthday this month. “I feel amazing. This is great!”
He and his wife, Melissa, have an 11-month-old son.
The couple intend to pay off both of their student loans with the prize.
“That will be nice enough,” he said.
