COLUMBIA, SC (October 30, 2012) – A Greenville man didn’t tell his family last December when he won $200,000 playing the Lottery and sees no reason to mention the $100,000 he collected yesterday.
His motives for keeping the wins secret aren’t selfish.
He’s been nothing but generous.
Last Christmas, he bought his wife a new car and other nice gifts. This time around, he’s helping his children, church and college.
“I live a common life,” the winner said explaining why he hasn’t made public his winnings. “I want to help the people of my choosing.”
As of this release, three top prizes of $100,000 remain in the Right on the Money game. The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 540,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, The Spinx Company #114 in Greenville received a commission of $1,000.
Since the start of the Lottery in 2002, more than one million college scholarships and grants have been awarded to South Carolina’s students. In all, more than $2.8 BILLION has been transferred to support educational programs in the Palmetto State.
