FORSYTH COUNTY PRE-SCHOOL TEACHER PICKS UP $1,000,000 PRIZE
August 3, 2012
With hot summer days, one Forsyth County pre-school teacher can keep cool with a $1 million prize before heading back to school. Judy Pelham of Cumming played the Georgia Lottery instant game Georgia Lottery Black and won a $1 million top prize.
The grandmother of six claimed her prize Wednesday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth.
She purchased the winning ticket at Save Money Food Mart, located at 3671 Hutchinson Road in Cumming.
“I’ve had luck with it in the past,” explained Pelham, 56.
A mother of three adult children, Pelham scratched the ticket at home with her daughter and described the winning moment as “noisy.”
“We were screaming,” she said. “I feel pretty good, pretty excited.”
Pelham and her husband, Carlos, have not yet decided on what to do with their windfall.
