FARM WORKER PICKS SWEET $500K PRIZE IN BAINBRIDGE
July 11, 2012
Traveling came to a standstill for one farm worker as he picked a half-million dollar prize playing an instant game from the Georgia Lottery. Edras Joseph, who travels the Eastern Seaboard harvesting vegetables and fruits, won a $500,000 prize playing the instant game Jumbo Jumbo Bucks.
Joseph, 56, and his wife, Yolette Ulyssee, were heading North on a bus from Palm Beach, Fla., when they purchased their lucky ticket in Bainbridge.
According to Joseph, the experience was moving.
“The bus stopped at a gas station, so we decided to play a ticket,” he explained. “I scratched it in the store, and I jumped for joy. My dreams have come true.”
Mr. Pipp’s Convenience Store, 875 Colquitt Highway in Bainbridge, sold the winning ticket.
Joseph claimed his prize Tuesday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.
The lucky winner, who has worked as a farm worker for 34 years, intends to continue working and wants to assist his family and friends.
“I’m happy,” Joseph exclaimed.
