DURHAM WOMAN BUYS FOUR TICKETS, WINS FOUR PRIZES INCLUDING $100,000

Georgia Burton of Durham decided to try her luck playing Mega Bucks on Saturday, so she purchased four tickets. Later that evening she scratched off prizes on each one, including the game’s $100,000 top prize.
“The first one was the $100,000 ticket,” Burton said. “I had to turn on the lights and get my glasses. Then I kept scratching and I won $5, then another $5 and then $75. I’ve never had a run like that before. I had to take a walk to calm down.”
Burton plans to use her winnings, worth $68,001 after taxes, to pay bills, save for her grandsons and maybe take a vacation. She purchased the winning ticket at Beaver Pond Family Fare on Roxboro Road in Durham.
