DELI ORDER YIELDS $1 MILLION PAYDAY
June 27, 2012
When Brian D. Knell’s wife sent him to Tedeschi’s to pick up cold cuts, little did she know he’d come home with a little something extra for the family to feast on - one million dollars!
In addition to the deli order, Knell, who lives in Centerville with his wife Mary and their four children, bought the Lottery’s newest $5 instant game Double Platinum Payday and won the first of six $ 1 million prizes offered in the game. He selected the cash option on the prize and received a one-time lump sum payment of $650,000, before taxes.
The Knells plan on paying down their debt and investing the windfall into their children’s college education funds. Tedeschi’s, located at 1638 Falmouth Road in Centerville, will receive a $10,000 commission on the sale.
