COLUMBUS STERILE TECH WINS $30K
July 12, 2012
A hospital sterile technician from Columbus has polished off a Georgia Lottery prize. Alvin Moore, 39, won $30,000 playing the instant game $3,000,000 Taxes Paid.
“I just decided to play,” the father of two boys said. “I purchased one ticket.”
Jeff’s Fine Foods #0002, located at 2103 S. Lumpkin Road in Columbus, sold the winning ticket.
“I scratched it in the store and was like ‘Wait a minute,’ ” Moore recalled. “I showed the ticket to the clerk and a police officer who was nearby.”
Winning the prize rendered the lucky winner speechless.
“I still can’t believe it now,” Moore said. “I told my mom, and she congratulated me.”
Moore said that he and his wife, Vonetta, anticipate paying off bills with the windfall.
