DENVER,January 8, 2013 – This spring, the Colorado Lottery will introduce a new Jackpot game named “Pick 3.” Playing Pick 3 is as easy as 1-2-3! Players simply pick three numbers from zero to nine or they can ask the clerk for a Quick Pick. Three-digit lottery games are a mainstay in many parts of the U.S. Today, 38 lotteries across the country offer a three-digit game similar to Pick 3. In many states, including Texas, the Pick 3 game is the top selling Jackpot game, even over huge Jackpot games like Mega Millions. Over the years, the Colorado Lottery has received thousands of inquiries about when it would be launching a Pick 3 game.
“We want to keep our product portfolio fresh and add a long-term, sustainable Jackpot game that will be profitable and complement our existing portfolio of Jackpot games – Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto and Cash 5,” said Abel J. Tapia, director of the Colorado Lottery. “We believe that Pick 3 is the perfect addition and that once our players try it they will love it.”
