CHARLOTTE WOMAN TO TAKE HONEYMOON WITH $113,735 CASH 5 PRIZE

Saudy Charles, a resident of Charlotte, plans honeymoon with her husband with the $113,737 prize she won in the Aug. 11 Carolina Cash 5 drawing. She matched all five numbers to win a share of the $227,470 jackpot.
“My husband and I never got to take a honeymoon when we were married two years ago,” Charles said. “We definitely will now. Other than that, I don’t have any plans. All I know is I’m happy. This gives us some relief. It feels like a dream.“
Charles was at home when she learned of her big win.
“I checked on the computer and I was just shocked,” Charles said. “I like playing Cash 5 because it’s only five numbers and it seems easier to win. I’m living proof.”
After taxes were withheld, Charles received a check for $77,340. The ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven on Yorkmont Road in Charlotte.
“It felt like a dream until this very moment,” Charles said as she held her check for the first time. “Now it feels extremely real.”
The other winning Carolina Cash 5 ticket from the Aug. 11 drawing was sold at the Charlie Grill & Grocery on County Home Road in Greenville.
