'EXTRA' LUCKY IN DAWSON CREEK

Richmond BC – Mervin Campbell is "Extra" happy today after matching all four numbers on his LOTTO MAX Extra ticket to win the game's top prize of $500,000.
The Chetwynd resident says he wasn't quite sure how to react when he checked his ticket at a local retail store and "$500,000 winner" appeared on the lottery terminal screen.
"At first I thought it was an advertisement," said the 52-year-old maintenance worker. "While I was asking whether the screen was correct, the clerk got so excited the store owner had to calm him down."
"Afterwards, I began driving to Fort St. John for an appointment, but I was so excited I had to turn around, go home and tell my wife Agnes the good news."
Purchased his lucky ticket for the November 27, 2009 draw at Dawson Mall on 8th Street in Dawson Creek.
Campbell's win marks the second time just over two months someone has purchased a winning Extra ticket in Dawson Creek.
65-year-old Eric Henthorne and wife Wendy, 62, managed to match 4/4 numbers on the September 18, 2009 Extra draw to win the top prize of $500,000. The couple bought their lucky ticket at Dawson Co-Op, also on 8th Street.
Extra is the BC-only lottery game with a top prize of $500,000.
