RALEIGH—Frankie Shirley of Asheboro says he saw the new “Wooooooo!” instant scratch-off game and thought he’d give it a try since he’s a fan of Ric Flair. When he scratched off the top prize of $100,000, he says he read the ticket about 10 times to make sure it was real.
Shirley bought his winning ticket, worth $68,001.60 after taxes, at The Tobacco Shop LLC on North Fayetteville Street in Asheboro. He says he may use some of his winnings for a trip, but that most of it will go into savings.
