FORT WASHINGTON MAN CELEBRATES $30,879 RACETRAX WIN
July 30, 2009
(Baltimore) – Thursday was a lucky day for Walter Carter-Bey. The retired security officer from Fort Washington stopped at the store for a quick game of Racetrax after dropping his daughter off at work and won $30,879.

“It’s such a blessing,” Walter said. “I was screaming in the store.” Walter, 59, said the best part of the day was sharing the good news with his wife. “I had tears in my eyes when I told her,” Walter said. The two wasted no time, driving straight to Lottery Headquarters to pick up their prize.

“I love the horses,” Walter said. “I’ve been playing Racetrax ever since it came out.” Walter plays several times a week, using a series of numbers made from a combination of his grandchildren’s birthdays. His lucky numbers this week were 10,11, 12, which he played in a $6 trifecta box.

Walter, the grandfather of 10, plans to use his winnings to catch up on bills, buy glasses for his grandson and take his wife on a trip.

The winning ticket was purchased at Jo Jo Food Market located at 3311 Brinkley Road in Temple Hills.
