BLACK HAWK COUNTY MAN WINS $10,000 LOTTERY PRIZE
July 30, 2009
DES MOINES, Iowa – A Black Hawk County man won $10,000 playing the "$35 Million Cash Spectacular" instant scratch game.

Curt Thomas, a Dunkerton resident, claimed his prize Wednesday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. He purchased his winning ticket at Hy-Vee, 1422 Flammang in Waterloo.

The $35 Million Cash Spectacular is a $10 game. Players who match any of "their numbers" to any "winning number" on their ticket win the prize shown for that play area. If they find a "star" symbol, they win the prize shown instantly. The overall odds of winning in the game are about 1 in 3.
