$5.5 MILLION HOOSIER LOTTO JACKPOT CLAIMED

INDIANAPOLIS – IALG Investments, LLC is the recipient of the $5.5 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot. The LLC was represented by Attorney David Henn at a press conference held at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters today at noon. The winner of the jackpot matched all six numbers in the Wednesday, July 8 Hoosier Lotto drawing: 4-7-21-25-40-48. The members of the LLC (winners) defied odds of one in more than 12 million (1:12,271,512) to win the jackpot.
A member of the LLC said he plays $1 of Hoosier Lotto and $4* of Powerball two times each week. *He purchases two Powerball tickets with Power Play. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased from Rickers #36 at 8045 South Meridian Street in Indianapolis after the regular Lottery player won $3 from a previous Hoosier Lotto purchase. The winner chose to spend his $3 winnings wisely to purchase two more Hoosier Lotto tickets and a Powerball ticket. One of the Quick Pick Hoosier Lotto tickets from that purchase was the winner of the $5.5 million prize.
"This is a special and unique time for the Hoosier Lottery winners, and they are taking this time in private to reflect and consider the magnitude of this blessing they have received and the new opportunities it presents for them," said Henn during the press conference. "The Hoosier Lotto winners would like to thank Governor Daniels, the Indiana State Lottery Commission, and in particular the staff here at the Hoosier Lottery for their great assistance and cooperation in respecting the wishes of the Hoosier Lotto winners to remain anonymous at this time."
The members of the LLC elected to take the current value of the $5.5 million annuity and received approximately $2.1 million before taxes today ($2,090,135 cash).
"The Hoosier Lotto winners are a family of native Hoosiers who live here in Central Indiana," said Henn. "They play the Hoosier Lottery regularly and have done so since the Lottery's inception in 1989."
IALG Investments, LLC is the latest in a string of recent Hoosier Lotto jackpot winners. This is the sixth lucky Hoosier Lotto jackpot won in 2009 and the 12th winner since July 2008.
"At this time, they [the winners] have made no decision to quit working, or to modify their lives or lifestyles in any fashion, as a result of winning the Hoosier Lottery," said Henn.
The retailer that sold the winning ticket, Rickers #36, will receive a $55,000 bonus (1% of $5.5 million capped at $100,000).
The current Hoosier Lotto jackpot is $3.5 million.
